SEDAM Communications Limited Extends their Presence in CIS

SEDAM Communications Limited has always considered business with Russia and CIS as a very important direction in their mainstream activities, such as R&D, Electronic equipment testing and certification, and Marketing and sales of radio equipment to Russia and other CIS countries. SEDAM’s front line office in St.-Petersburg, Russia, is primarily charged with the latter duties.

Captain Petr K. Tatarintsev takes responsibility as the Russian and CIS Regional Manager for SEDAM Communications Limited from 1 October 2009. He has a difficult task to promote various high tech Marine Electronic equipment by a number of Western and Eastern Companies, such as EPIRBs, Radars, GPS plotters in the Russian Market with emphasis on the CIS leisure fleet.

Captain Petr K. Tatarintsev:

After completing a successful career at merchant marine, with invaluable experience of sailing merchant ships under different flags as a Deep Sea Captain, Capt. Tatarintsev acquired more than 15 years of experience in Development, Design, Production and Marketing of various Marine Navigation and Communications complexes and devices, such as:

- COSPAS-SARSAT Emergency Beacons and other Safety Equipment;

- ECDIS – Electronic Chart Display & Information System;

- ECS – Electronic Cartography System;

- VTS – Vessel Traffic System;

- INS & IBS – Integrated Navigational & Bridge Systems;

- Targets’ (SARP & AIS) Monitoring System;

- Navigational Training Systems (Simulators).

SEDAM Communication Limited (UK) and The Public Enterprise Testing Centre “Omega” (Ukraine) extend co-operation agreement to cover Equipment certification for export to the CIS market

In October 2008 SEDAM Communications Limited from London, UK, and The Public Enterprise Testing Centre “Omega” from Sevastopol, Ukraine, signed a co-operation agreement to work together in supplying services in Testing of Marine equipment for the western market. SEDAM Communication Limited (UK) and The Public Enterprise Testing Centre “Omega” (Ukraine) sign co-operation agreement

SEDAM Communications Limited, a London based provider of Research and Development (R&D) services to the high tech industry and The Public Enterprise Testing Centre “Omega” from Sevastopol, Ukraine, who conduct testing of Telecommunication equipment have signed a co-operation agreement to work together in supplying services in Testing of Marine equipment for the western market.

The Public Enterprise Testing Centre Omega has been in the business of testing marine equipment for over 40 years. From 1968, Omega performs testing of different type of marine radio communication equipment with particular experience in Type Approval testing of the Cospas-Sarsat beacons, EPIRBs, ELT and PLBs. Testing Center “Omega” has conducted tests of 23 radio beacon models and dozens other types of ship-borne and shore-borne radio equipment.

SEDAM’s employees have long-time experience in the testing of different types of Marine radio equipment: traditional (MF, HF, UHF), Inmarsat, Cospas-Sarsat, including direct involvement in Type Approval of dozens of Cospas-Sarsat beacons from almost every manufacturers around the world. Most of International and National standards in this area were prepared with their direct involvement.

In the beginning of 2007, Omega initiated co-operation with SEDAM in the direction of enhancing Omega’s presence in the western market. Since then, Omega has been granted the US CG approval and was registered with FCC in addition to existing arrangements with European Notified Bodies for testing equipment in accordance with European MED.

The SEDAM-OMEGA working approach is very straight forward: work on every order is carefully planned. The testing schedule is developed using Project Management tools and submitted for customer consideration and approval. The price of testing is calculated on the basis of the agreed schedule and the required resources.

Current rate is 15US$/hour.

The Public Enterprise Testing Centre “Omega” : The Testing Center “Omega” was established in 1968 as a base center for testing of mobile and marine radio equipment. In 1993 the Testing Center “Omega” was re-organized into commercially independent Public Enterprise Testing Center “Omega” specializing in certification of telecommunication equipment. The Testing Center “Omega” is also conduction the testing of samples and the first serial units of new telecommunication equipment and its components, Radio, TV, wired and wireless equipment, earth, satellite, ship-borne and shore-borne radio navigation equipment in accordance with national and regional, European and North American standards. At present time Omega is a main supplier of this type of services to Russia and Ukraine and also some other countries in CIS, Europe and USA.

SEDAM Communications Ltd. express their appreciation to the students and employees of the St. - Petersburg Electrotechnical University "LETI" (ETU) for the assistance in its development.

The Most-Bridge Programme (MBP) is primarily dedicated to R&D work in Information Technology and electronics, however any high tech projects, advanced products and high level services can be offered or ordered via the MBP. The MBP is therefore not industry-specific.
